I've never met a prediction of 2012, other than the end of the world. Nobody has anything good or positive predicted for next year than humanity being wiped off the face of the planet. Below are some of the predictions of 2012.
Great Flood
The Bible shows that in the days of Noah, the iniquity of man, raining forty days and forty nights causing a great flood. Although there is no evidence that there was indeed a great flood, many people believe this because of their Christian faith. This belief is so ingrained that people have the idea that when the end of the world happen, it will happen the same way. In fact, in the film of 2012, the great earthquakes and other natural disasters were not enough, there was a kind of great flood that covered the Earth - making sure that no human being could live.
With all the great floods and land slides, and climate change, it is so easy to think that this is actually a sign that the doomsday predictions will happen.

Planet Collision / Meteor Shower
This is a bit confusing, since it does not really know how it came this fear. Maybe it has something to do with theories about the extinction of the dinosaurs when they said that dinosaurs became extinct during a meteor shower. This may be the root of where this fear comes. There are also theories that predict the collision of the Earth with another planet who have called Planet X.
Scientists however discounted these theories. A possible collision the planet and should show now, but no sign of any such planet. Besides scientists could easily see a meteor approaching to land and plot its path. A comet Cruze on the way from Earth and should be seen for now.
