Nobody knows exactly what will happen on December 21, 2012, but we can be sure there will be major changes in our planet. If you're wondering, "How I can survive 2012?" There is no easy answer. If the Earth's electromagnetic field is reversed as some have predicted all life on the planet will die. But if there are disasters, wars and catastrophes is a good chance of survival for many of us. Some predict that the disaster may even lead to a new era for humanity.
We do not know what will happen but the least we can do is be prepared. Here are some things you can do to survive 2012.
Your home is your safe haven
Take a good look at where you live. Is it safe? Your home may have to be your shelter in the coming years. Think about natural disasters that may occur in your area, such as floods, tsunamis, earthquakes or volcanic eruptions. In terms of natural disasters, a place that is high and far from the oceans is the best. It is also good to live in an area with low population density and where there are no nuclear reactors nearby.
Stay safe
There may also be a breakdown in civil services such as police, hospitals and fire departments. Although it is a sad reality that most of us do not want to face may be people looting and causing trouble. It might even be a good idea to be armed. Take some classes to make sure you know how to use them. It also helps if your home is located on a hill where you can see anyone who approaches.
Living off the land
Start learning to live off the land. If the disaster lasts many years canned food and stored water will not be enough to survive. Learn to identify edible plants, learn to hunt, prepare meat and grow some vegetables. A great way to practice is to go camping in remote and use the skills they are learning.
Learn first aid
Learn first aid and make sure you have all the supplies you need. Be prepared to deal with any illness or injury and could not have doctors or medical help.
